Upcycled Mason Jars make gorgeous vases for Thanksgiving
We get a lot of Mason jars at WIN which led the Upcycling Committee to think about how we could use them in new ways. With a can of gold spray paint we turned these beauties into festive fall vases perfect for Thanksgiving. It's a nice time of year to bring some nature indoors and buying flowers is a great way to treat yourself.
Poppies Floral Art, one of our fellow Think Local First business members generously offered to make arrangements for us to show off the jars. Poppies is located in the Atrium building and sells flower arrangements and a wide range of plants. The gorgeous autumn arrangements they created really complimented the jars.
Only one coat of spray paint was required. You could also use bronze which would suit the theme. This idea would also work well in silver, or a matte pastel, during wedding season.
The arrangements themselves were added to this week's New Start packages. We got a call this morning from a New Start participant expressing how lovely it was to receive a surprise flower arrangement with her furniture. Thank you so much to Poppies Floral Art for making this happen!
